Attention - Driving on the field!

Please be aware that with the cold, wet weather gradually creeping in, the fields/grassed areas will become extremely soft and somewhat difficult to drive on. Members fishing the fieldside of the reservoir please use the car park provided to lower the risk of your vehicle becoming stuck. This also prevents the fields/grassed areas devoloping ruts and less difficult to cut during the summer months.

Many thanks

Gate 2 saw a fish of 21lb banked whilst Jungle/Weedy Bay saw 3 fish caught weights between 17lb and 20lb. Coconut also saw a low 20lb fish banked. Peg 1 on the woodside produced a 19lb common for a new member who had only been on the bank 4 hours! Well Done! Another member also managed a low 20lb fish from the same peg. The beginners peg also produced one fish of 17lb. Still large numbers of fish are present and very active on the dam head. Lets see what catches this next bank holiday brings. Reports will be posted when we get them.

April 20th 2011 - 8 fish haul from beginners peg!

A session on the beginners peg leads to an 8 fish haul for one of our members. The catch included 2 double figured fish and a whopping six twenties to 26lb. A big well done to the angler. Booking are now being taken for in order to fish the peg. Elsewhere no catch reports but fish are still being spotted with large numbers being seen at the dam head of the reservoir. The majority of these fish are sitting/crusing on or within a foot or two of the surface.

Tight Lines!

April 15th 2011 - Fish active but no catch reports

No catches to report in the last week but plenty of fish have been seen all over the reservoir. In the past couple of days, a large percentage of the fish have been spotted between pegs 1-3 on the woodside between 40 and 60 yards from the bank. Hopefully they do get there heads down within the next week. Watch this space.

Attention - Prebook to fish 'The beginners peg'

No members to reserve the beginners peg by leaving bivvies or tackle unattened on the peg! This makes it unfair for other anglers who are ACTUALLY fishing. In order to fish the beginners peg at the reserve end of the reservoir, members will need to prebook by contacting the fishery giving the period of time of which you will be attending and fishing the peg. The length of your stay will be a maximum of five days and will run from midday to midday. This has been done to make it fair for all members and not continually 'STICHED UP'. Please respect the rules. Any members found fishing the peg without prebooking confirmation will have their rights to fish the peg revoked.

Also with the current warm spell the fields have started to dry out and it is now acceptable to drive on the grass to drop of your gear near your designated peg but please return your car back to the car park. Any members unsure please contact the fishery for confirmation.

Many Thanks from the Fishery.

April 1st 2011 - Attention! - Pole position reopened and renamed

The 'Pole position' peg at the reserve end of the reservoir has now reopened for fishing. When fishing the peg please use common sense and take courtesy of the fishery members that may be also fishing the 'Reserve' peg. With the reopening, 'Pole position' has also been renamed and shall now on be known as 'The Beginners Peg'. Catch reports from the peg with be posted as soon as we get them.

Lower Pond Course Fishery

Fish are on the feed on the fishery's Lower Pond this week as 11 tench have been banked with an average weight of 5lb+. The majority of the tench were caught on Sweetcorn.

March 28th 2011 - Attention! - New flushable toilet

A flushable toilet has been installed on the field side of the reservoir adjacent to the car park and is open for use. As an angler on the fishery please do your part in keeping the toilets clean and presentable. Many thanks.

Over the weekend between 40-50 fish were seen lurking around the Dam head area of the reservoir with 2 fish being landed, weighing 7lb and a stunning 24lb Linear.

w/e March 25th 2011 - The weathers getting warmer!

Now with weather getting warmer the fish and anglers are becoming a lot more active. Numerous fish have been showing this last week, a lot have been cleaning themselves from the winter period whilst others have been calmly cruising on surface around the reservoir. Also the rotten vegetation from the lake bed has began to show all over the reservoir and should hopefully be gone within the next fortnight. Catch reports are currently low but hopefully picks up once the rotten vegetation has disappeared. Catch reports will be post as soon as we get them. Tight Lines.

Dont forget reservoir netting 7th April 2011. Members welcome to help and watch. More info below.

March 2011 - Attention! - Reservoir to be Netted (Now taken place)

Please note the date of the netting has changed to April 7th 2011.

On April 7th 2011, Moorgreen Reservoir is to be netted for the removal of silver fish. Due to high numbers of silver fish within the reservoir, the removal will encourage the growth of the current carp population and help them sustain higher weights. Any members of the fishery wanting to participate in the netting, please contact Peter for confirmation. Members are also welcome to watch the netting. Please keep an eye out on our website for further information.

March 2011 - Attention!

When fishing the field side of the reservoir please do not drive or park on the grass and use the car park area provided. Doing so causes the grass to become damaged and begins to look messy. It also makes it difficult to cut during the warmer months. Thanks

February/March 2011 - Fish are starting to feed

After the reservoir being frozen for the majority of the long winter, fish have began to make a move and they're hungry. Numerous carp have been caught upto 29lb 7oz. Other fish weights have varied between 15lb and 24lb.
